MELBOURNE, Australia

Nura Space, the Australian workplace technology company, is highlighting its longstanding partnership with the Royal Automobile Club of Western Australia (RAC), demonstrating how integrated workplace technology can support major office transformations and deliver lasting operational value.

Now in its fourth year of using Nura Space, RAC provides more than 1,500 employees with access to approximately 900 workpoints across two Western Australian locations.

The platform played a key role in RAC's headquarters transformation, a major workplace project encompassing more than 10,000 square metres and supporting over 1,100 employees.

Selected following an extensive competitive tender process, Nura Space has helped RAC introduce new ways of working, consolidate workplace services, improve space utilisation and support a more flexible employee experience.

Supporting a major workplace transformation

RAC's headquarters transformation represented a significant change in how its employees would use and interact with their workplace.

Beyond the physical design of the office, the organisation needed technology capable of supporting new workplace behaviours, simplifying access to shared resources and providing reliable information to guide ongoing operational decisions.

Following a comprehensive assessment of workplace technology providers, RAC selected Nura Space for its simplicity, customisability, service commitment and long-term value.

“During our extensive tender assessment, Nura Space stood out because of its simplicity, customisability, service commitment and whole-of-life value to our organisation. Whilst many other providers responded to the tender, only Nura Space could meet our criteria, ticking every box.”

Travis Foster, Head of Property, RAC WA

A key consideration was the ability to introduce new workplace technology without placing unnecessary demands on RAC's existing IT infrastructure.

Nura Space integrated with RAC's Microsoft Azure environment, helping simplify deployment and supporting the transition to new workplace practices.

The platform also assisted employees in adopting new workplace behaviours through its everyday functionality, reducing reliance on extensive change management programmes.

Connecting employee experience with operational intelligence

The implementation enabled RAC to bring multiple workplace services together within a single, user-friendly platform.

Employees gained simpler access to workplace resources, while RAC's property and workplace teams benefited from improved visibility into how office space was being used.

The resulting utilisation data has supported more informed decisions about resource allocation, workplace demand and the ongoing management of RAC's hybrid working environment.

“The platform has also allowed us to streamline and improve numerous workplace services, amalgamating them into one user-friendly platform. The data insights we have garnered have empowered us to make more informed resource management decisions, which has proven invaluable to our hybrid operations.”

Nura Space's ability to adapt to changing organisational requirements has also been an important part of the partnership, supporting RAC through evolving workplace needs and the introduction of additional workplace initiatives.

Reducing energy consumption through intelligent workplace technology

Beyond employee experience and workplace management, RAC has also used Nura Space's power-on-demand capabilities to reduce unnecessary energy consumption.

The technology enables power to be managed according to workplace usage, helping eliminate standby consumption at workpoints when desks are unoccupied, including overnight and during weekends.

“Notably, its integration into power-on-demand functionality has enabled us to achieve substantial power savings. It allows us to eliminate standby power usage during nights, weekends and when a desk is not in use.”

The capability demonstrates how workplace management technology can extend beyond space utilisation to support broader building efficiency and sustainability objectives.

By connecting workplace occupancy with operational building systems, organisations can better align resource consumption with actual demand.

Four years of continued value

RAC's continued use of Nura Space over four years demonstrates the importance of selecting workplace technology that can evolve alongside an organisation's changing requirements.

With more than 1,500 employees now accessing 900 workpoints across two locations, the platform continues to support RAC's flexible workplace arrangements and day-to-day operations.

Anton Schiavello, Co-Founder and CEO of Nura Space, said RAC's experience illustrates the importance of viewing workplace technology as a long-term operational investment rather than simply an employee booking tool.

“RAC is a great example of what can be achieved when workplace technology is considered as part of a broader transformation, rather than something introduced after the workplace has been designed.”
“From the outset, the objective was to make new ways of working practical for employees while giving the organisation better information and greater control over its workplace operations.”
“Four years on, it's particularly rewarding to see Nura Space continuing to support RAC's people, workplace strategy and operational efficiency. The ability to bring together employee experience, space intelligence and power management within one platform is a key part of the value we deliver.”

The ongoing partnership also reflects the importance of responsive support and continuous product development in maintaining long-term customer relationships.

In his endorsement, Foster recognised the Nura Space team's responsiveness, technical guidance and willingness to adapt the platform to RAC's requirements.
